SEARS, HARRIS NAMED ALL-STAR HEAD COACHES

The Arkansas Activities Association released the coaching staffs for the 67th Annual Arkansas High School Football Coaches Association All-Star Football game.

Brad Harris of Benton was named the head coach of the West while Tom Sears of Hoxie was named the head coach of the East.

The last two All-Star games have been cancelled due to Covid-19 pandemic. The Arkansas High School Coaches Association/National Guard All-Star Football game was scheduled to be held at Estes Stadium at the University of Central Arkansas on Saturday, June 26.

Harris guided Benton to the 6A-West outright championship and to the Class 6A semifinals. He was also head coach in 2018 and an assistant in 2017. Sears took Hoxie to the Class 3A state quarterfinals. Sears is the head coach of the East for the second consecutive season and was the head coach in 2013.

Joe Besancon of Hazen, Bo Hembree of Warren, Steven Jones of El Dorado, Anthony Lucas of Pulaski Academy, Randy Sandefure of North Little Rock and Hoxie's Cole Sears, the son of head coach Tom Sears, were selected as assistants for the East.

Brey Cook and Max Hotelling of Pea Ridge, Josh Jones of Lamar, Ricky May of Charleston, D.J. Marrs of Quitman and Benton's Drew Harris, son of head coach Brad Harris, were chosen as assistants for the West. Hembree is a coach in the All-Star game for the fourth time.
